I lost a friend this week.
It’s not an easy thing to accept.
I had been praying for him for months. And you might think those prayers were a failure. But that’s not the way it works.
He made a lot of “mistakes” during his short time. But he’d also made a lot of progress right before the end. And you want to know what else? He seemed happy. His previous life was one of selfishness. His new life was one of service and gratitude.
It reminded me of the Orthodox saying: If you die before you die, then you won’t die when you die.
May his memory be eternal.
