Keep the X in Xmas

Christmas is a depressing time for many of my patients.

Stockings full of broken relationships and regretful memories. The challenge to prove yourself can be overwhelming.

Not only is sobriety demanded, but any flaw in character will be called out and your past will be paraded in front of you again, and again, and again.  Your past demands this.  You own this now and you accept it.

But is that OK? Is it OK for you to sacrifice your pride in order to re-build the broken bridge that your past demolished?

You’re damn right it is!

It’s worth it.  Hang in there.  You don’t have to argue.   You don’t have to beg. You don’t have to prove to anyone that you are now different.  All you have to do, is stay sober.

Do this for your family.

Do this for yourself.
