bunkbeds

It started with a dream.

Well, not really.  It wasn’t the dream.  It was the moments after waking.  The unquiet mind.  Racing.  Forming sentences and thoughts.

There would be no more sleeping tonight.

He dreamed awake until the message was clear.

He had something to build.

You see, he had heard about an addiction recovery program.  A place people went when they were out of options.  A place they went to find work.  A place they went to find peace.

He heard these people needed a better place to sleep.

This kept him from sleeping.

He had a purpose and that was that.

Sometimes the simple things can give us the most pause.

So he built some bunkbeds.  Then he built some more.

People are always asking me, “what should I do with my life?”.  I don’t have an answer.  I’m a doctor, not a life coach.

But the truth is, maybe you don’t need a life coach.

Maybe you just need to do something simple. Something good.

Maybe…

you just need to build some bunkbeds.
