I used to write about minimalism.
But I’m no minimalist.
Or maybe you could call me the world’s worst minimalist.
Everything is so strange and overwhelming right now. How long will we have to enjoy our current comforts? Will the stock market survive? Will the virus get us? Will there be WW3?
While we wait for things to get back to normal, we take the time to….
Simplify.
Quarantine sucks. I get it. I’m lucky enough to get to keep going to work every day.
You might be sick of your home right now. Staring at the same 4 walls every day. Or maybe. although don’t admit it, sick of your kids or your husband or even the dog.
It’s a lot of “quality” time you get to spend right now.
Maybe now is the time we create the lives that we truly need.
New routines. New habits. New escapes. New dreams.
My daily routine is simple. Wake up, pray, drink coffee, read, exercise, get to work. Simple.
Keep it chill and make your home a solid foundation of love. You’ll fail a million times but a million times you’ll just have to try again……
and that’s okay.
Don’t take things so seriously. Make a few jokes. Laugh a little. Smile a lot.
Because the simple things last.
Not the soccer tournaments or the basketball games. It’s not about the braces or the dance lessons. Not karate or prom dresses or piano recitals.
I’m not saying these things don’t matter.
All I’m saying is…
Make the first things, the first things.
In everything you do, strive towards heaven.
And with the grace of God, some day you might just get there.
